The comparison of the preaching from Old Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT) in churches in Indonesia is the focus of this study. As a source of Christian growth, the biblical text is preached in Sunday services every week. It seems that the OT text is preached less than the NT text. The previous studies showed that OT was preached less than NT. A small survey in several churches showed that the OT was preached less than the NT in most of the churches though the number of the OT books is two thirds of the Bible. How the text from OT was preached was also part of the survey and the result was fairly for the exploration of the text, the structure of the preachings and the application within the preachings. To confirm the result of the survey, interviews with some preachers were conducted and it came with the conclusion for the obstacles in preaching the OT is related to cultural, theological and practical matters. However, it is recommended to the churches to preach more from the OT for the spiritual balance and strong foundation of Christian faith. And the quality of the preaching from the OT can be improved by using the provided helps from the available OT preaching books.
